Digital media in the classroom
Digital media, technology, and virtual spaces where informal learning takes place, are used to deliver content-rich lessons. These tools allow students to develop new literacies, digital citizenship, and express their creativity in a way that empowers them to take partial academic ownership in a collaborative setting. Throughout the school year, students will develop a participatory culture in an environment where participation gaps are minimized using numerous in-class computers, printers, Chromebooks, iPads, robotic devices, and BYODs. Formally, students have researched world conflicts, criminal cases, environmental and other pressing issues that were later shared through school board approved sites.
